Umamicue is looking for experienced, courteous and motivated individual to join our team as one of our line cooks. Our line cook will be hardworking, dependable, motivated, and passionate about cooking. This candidate will possess a great eye for detail and will be responsible for the planning and execution of all of our recipes. This position can grow into a manager/managing partner in the future. - 1 year+ of kitchen experience preferred - Willingness to learn a new cuisine - Get along well with others and be a team player - Line Cooks are responsible for the preparation, production and presentation of all menu items - Prepare menu items according to prescribed recipes and/or special requests - Available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends - Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives - Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces - Multitask calmly and effectively under pressure - Follow all prescribed portioning controls and par levels - Maintain food safety and quality standards - Maintain menu item counts and communicate to chefs when quantities are low - Accurately account for all items coming out of the station - Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions - Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures - Other duties will be assigned as needed - Food Handler Certificate required -Cleansurfaces, floors, inside and outside of all equipment thoroughly- Able to carry 50 LBs
